Only in the warped world of Liberalism are actual racist overtones not racist

Only in the warped world of Liberalism would it be OK to use the word “ape” when referring to a black man. If a Conservative made any kind of even vague reference to the movie “Planet of the Apes” when referring to any member of the Democratic Party who might happen to be African-American, the cries of racism would be deafening.  In fact, you don’t even need to go that far.  As we’ve seen in recent days, you need only interrupt the President (never mind that Sam Donaldson did the same thing to Reagan and no one accused him of being racist against white people).

(As a quick aside – notice how I referred to President Reagan, a man whom I greatly admire, sgoldkeyposter_smallimply by his last name? Referring to President Obama merely as Obama has been indicated as a racist overtone, never mind that his own campaign bumper stickers list solely his last name.  But as usual, I digress…)

So now we have loud-mouth Bill Maher, a hypocrite if there ever was one, referring to the GOP as the “Party of the Apes” while at the same time ripping the GOP for not repudiating Allen West for recent comments.

The irony is deafening.  I am quite certain that we will hear conservatives coming to West’s defense, while also pointing out that if that term was used about the Democrat Party, the media (and members of the CBC) would be screaming at the top of their lungs.  But here, if we hear one inkling of that from anyone on the Left, I will be very surprised.  More likely, I would expect to hear them attempt to explain how Maher’s comments are justifiable and how he wasn’t referring to West as an ape.

But those of us who are able to reason with our own minds can see the hypocrisy.
