Only Black Democrats Can Question Someone’s “Blackness”

When speaking recently of Barack Obama, Ben Carson raised the question of Obama’s blackness, indicating that Obama had been raised white really could not identify with the black experience.

He’s an “African” American. He was, you know, raised white. Many of his formative years were spent in Indonesia. So, for him to, you know, claim that, you know, he identifies with the experience of black Americans, I think, is a bit of a stretch.

I think that Carson has a legitimate point.  But when a Republican like Carson says it, people are offended.  Or worse.

If only Jesse Jackson would have the balls to say out loud what he really thinkswithout issuing an apology later.
